B&R served as the Energy Efficiency consultant for the project in this 300,000 SF casino and 1,500,000 SF parking garage. When Cordish Companies assembled the architect and engineering team for the project, they hired B&R to identify, assess, select and coordinate the implementation of the most financially feasible and environmentally responsible energy conservation measures available. Upon completion of this evaluation, B&R recommended the replacement of HID garage lighting with an LED light solution (Philips Wide-Lite Quality LED Parking (QLP) luminaries) that would reduce energy usage by 62% and provide an annual savings of over $140,000. The net savings of this resulted in payback within six months of opening. This project has the first and largest privately developed parking deck in the country to utilize LED technology, which secured $1,000,000 in energy incentives, including $374,000 for the parking deck.
